The Tragedy Comes To An End!

https://sites.google.com/a/hightechhigh.org/tragedy-comedy/tragedy
This is the link which leads to my classes Tragedy Project page. My entry is titled "Mountains Don't Discriminate", and can be found under the 'Short Stories' section. I think the page looks really cool, and I read, viewed, watched some of the other students work. Some of them were really good, like Isaac's short poem, and some of them were really funny, but at the same time, creeped me out a little (Logan and Daniel's interpretive dancing, for example). All in all, I am happy with how my story turned out, and can't wait to begin the next project. Comedy!!

Emma Essay

I'm currently finishing reading the book Emma, which I will write my next essay on for the independent reading project. My question that I'm trying to answer is what Jane Austen thinks the different kinds of marriage are during her time period.

I haven't finished brainstorming yet, but I think I'm going to reflect on the marriages of Mr. Knightly and Emma, and Harriett and Mr. Martin. Emma and Mr. Knightly was not only an affectionate marriage (they actually loved each other), but they also had important things to learn from each other. Harriett's marriage to Mr. Martin, which was also an affectionate marriage, but it was also very advantageous on Harriett's part; she gained status when she married Mr. Martin.

I should reflect probably on a third marriage, but I'm still not quite sure yet.

Tragic Creation

For my tragic creation, I have been going back and forth between a digital enhanced photo of 9/11 or either painting a picture of 9/11. The picture that I duplicate will be on selected off of the internet. Along with this I plan to write a small description on my reason for choosing my creation idea. I chose this idea to base my creation on because it is a prime example of a tragedy. Along with this, it ties into my tragedy paper.

Short week!

well this week we only had 3 days of school! which is in a way good and in a way bad. I wish that we could of had a complete week this week because that way i can get some work done for my essay that us due on Friday. But i am thankful for Google docs so that way Stephanie can check my essay and give me feedback on my essay. One of the best things that has happened on this short week is that soccer try-outs started and also that i am pretty much caught up on my work, my essay is almost finished the main thing that i have to do now is to get my works cited page on and also finish any final mistakes that i might have to revise still. Overall i think that my essay is going well after i am done writing out this blogger i will check my essay and see what new revisions i have to make on my essay. I think that i did do a pretty good job on it and i am hoping that i can receive an a on it because i have put a lot of thought into that essay and a lot of hard work. I also have to keep on reading my book and hopefully finish it this weekend! that will be my four day weekend goal.

Finding Perfect by Susan Mallery

This week i started reading my second book. It's called "Finding Perfect" written by Susan Mallery. The book is a romance book just like Nicholas Sparks books. My essential question is how does the author portray a love story through the characters? Meaning how much the author chooses his characters in order to make the book a love story. What do the characters have that make the book look so lovely. Most of the times the authors makes that perfect man and woman that people would want to have. Also they make love look so perfect but in the reality world we believe is not so we live love through books. Susan Mallery is a bit different from Nicholas Sparks but I can see how she draws her characters. The book is about a woman named Pia in where she is going through breakdowns because she doesn't know if she should have her friend's Crystal babies. Crystal past away from a sickness and left the embryos to Pia so she could have them. Pia doesn't understand why her. While this is happening she is helping a football players that is living in her city, this guy happens to appear right when they told her that Crystal had left her the embryos. She was suppose to help this guy but couldn't concentrate so she told him what was going on and instead he helped her. This guy kept bumping into her and apparently he knew Crystal's husband who died in war, and this guy was there when it happened. Pia is scare to have the babies but feels like she has too and the football player just wants to be there for her. This is how far I have gotten into, and it's getting good.

1st blog!

One thing I have most enjoyed about english this semester is the warm-ups we do in the beginning of class. Usually the warm-ups are our perspectives to a passage, poem, picture etc. This makes me show more of my opinion by noticing the big and little details. This definitely helped me on my personal statement. These warm-ups helped express everything I wanted to in my statement. I look forward to continuing these to help me in my future writing assignments.
